Oasis Afternoon Teas

Looking for a lovely afternoon out?

Why not join us at Oasis Afternoon Teas? Whether you're catching up with old friends, hoping to make some new ones, or simply fancy a delicious afternoon tea in good company, you'll receive a very warm welcome.

Held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, our Afternoon Teas are open to everyone aged 50 and over. Each session welcomes around 35–45 people, and for many it has become a favourite date in the diary.

Enjoy a selection of homemade sandwiches, cakes and refreshments while relaxing in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. There's always plenty to do if you'd like to join in, including quizzes, board games and our famously competitive Big Card Bingo! Or, if you prefer, simply enjoy a cuppa and a chat.

From time to time, we also welcome guest speakers and visitors from organisations such as Age UK, Healthwatch Bury and our local Police Community Support Officers, who offer helpful advice, information and a friendly conversation.

At Whitefield Methodist Church we believe that no one should have to feel alone or isolated. Oasis Afternoon Teas are about friendship, community and making sure everyone has somewhere they belong. Many people come on their own for the first time and soon find themselves among friends.
